To help talented student-athletes expand their global vision, elevate their competitive level, and create real recruitment opportunities in the United States, Advance Basketball Academy, in partnership with Athletic Management Global Sports Consultants (AMG), proudly announces the launch of the 2026 Spring U.S. College Basketball Tour – Rise to the Challenge.
Taking place from April 18–27, 2026, this 10-day elite development tour in California is limited to 10 participants and is now officially open for registration.
Designed specifically for Asian male student-athletes from Grade 9 through freshman year of college, this program combines university visits, on-court team training experiences, professional skill development, and cultural immersion. Participants will gain a true understanding of what it means to be a “student-athlete” within the U.S. system. This is not simply an overseas training trip—it is a pivotal developmental journey that impacts skill progression, college planning, and long-term career direction.
Centered on Junior Colleges: The Most Practical Pathway to NCAA
This year’s tour places a strategic focus on California’s junior college (JUCO) system, while also incorporating selected four-year universities to provide a complete and realistic college pathway framework.
In recent years, a growing number of international athletes have chosen to begin their U.S. careers at junior colleges to develop their skills, build competitive résumés, and then transfer into NCAA programs to complete their degrees and athletic goals. Junior colleges offer flexible admissions standards, more affordable tuition, and increased playing opportunities—advantages that are especially valuable for Asian student-athletes adapting to a new language and cultural environment. One to two years in the JUCO system can significantly strengthen competitive performance, game experience, and exposure, creating a solid foundation for transferring into NCAA Division I or Division II programs.
Participants will visit powerhouse programs such as East Los Angeles College (ELAC), widely recognized through the Netflix documentary Last Chance U: Basketball. Known for its demanding training culture and highly competitive environment, ELAC has become a critical stepping stone for many athletes pursuing NCAA opportunities. The tour will also include institutions such as Fullerton College, a historic program known for both strong academic transfer rates and basketball tradition. These visits allow players to understand firsthand how junior colleges function as key gateways to four-year universities, encouraging strategic planning from both academic and athletic perspectives.

Immersed in High-Intensity U.S. Competition
This tour goes far beyond college exploration—it places athletes directly inside the high-intensity American basketball environment.
Participants will take part in official college team training sessions, competing against American players in one-on-one, small group, and full five-on-five formats. They will experience firsthand the speed, physicality, and tactical execution that define the U.S. game. Through real-game rhythm and physical competition, players will clearly recognize the gap between their current level and U.S. collegiate standards.
The program also integrates professional-level skill development sessions designed to elevate technical details, decision-making ability, and game-reading skills. This immersive exposure delivers far more than observation—it creates transformation.
NBA-Level Training Resources to Elevate Competitive Performance
The tour features elite training led by Harris Javier Chicano, a professional trainer with over 18 years of experience. Having competed within the NCAA system and trained numerous international professional athletes, Coach Harris specializes in skill refinement, decision-making development, and tactical understanding.
His client roster spans global professional leagues, including Taiwan’s TPBL star Abasi, WSBL’s Sung Pei-Hsin, and Japan B1 League players Dwight Ramos and Ethan Alvano, among others.
Through professional-level training programs and precise performance feedback, participants will quickly identify the gap between themselves and U.S. collegiate standards while gaining clear direction for improvement. Facing higher-level expectations head-on can become a defining turning point in a player’s development.

Expanding Vision, Creating U.S. Opportunities
Over the years, Advance Basketball Academy and AMG have successfully guided numerous Asian student-athletes into U.S. college programs across multiple sports, including golf, basketball, soccer, and track & field. Among them are athletes who have earned NCAA Division I scholarships.
With a foundation built on professional evaluation and long-term planning, the team focuses on constructing realistic and personalized pathways for each student-athlete. This tour serves as a powerful platform for early exposure to U.S. coaches, résumé building, and authentic relationship development.
The 10-day experience integrates university visits, live team training, professional skill enhancement, and authentic American campus life. Participants will grow not only in competitive ability, but also in mental toughness and international perspective.
For athletes who are serious about elevating their level and pursuing future opportunities in the United States, this is more than a trip abroad—it is a potential turning point toward becoming stronger and redefining their future direction.
In Spring 2026, give yourself the opportunity to step inside the core of U.S. college basketball.
